I think it's illegal to be an English teacher and not love quotes. Here are some of my favorites about reading, writing, teaching, learning, technology, or pretty much anything else.

“There is love enough in this world for everybody, if people will just look.”
― Kurt VonnegutCat’s Cradle

"Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing." ~Benjamin Franklin

"Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow."

--Kurt Vonnegut

‎"Our aim is to make the world more beautiful than it was when we came into it. It can be done. You can do it."

     -Kurt Vonnegut

"I have become an enthusiast for the printed word again. I have to be that, I now understand, because I want to be a character in all of my works. I can do that in print. In a movie, somehow, the author vanishes. Everything of mine which has been filmed so far has been one character short, and the character is me."

     -Kurt Vonnegut

‎"I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn't be daunting; they should be funny, exciting and wonderful, and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage."

         --Roald Dahl

"Fiction, because it is not about somebody who actually lived in the real world, always has the possibility of being about oneself."

         --Orson Scott Card

"Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."

          --Rudyard Kipling

"The books that the world calls immoral are the books that show the world its own shame."

--Oscar Wilde (via Lord Henry in The Picture of Dorian Gray)

"I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."

          --Unknown

"Maybe there's something you're afraid to say, or someone you're afraid to love, or somewhere you're afraid to go. It's gonna hurt. It's gonna hurt because it matters."

--John Green or David Levithan, Will Grayson, Will Grayson
