PowerPoint (or Prezi) Presentation Practice

Digital Literacy – Lampinen

File Name: aboutme_lastname.PPT

Grade

Oral presentation: Summative Assessment

PPT or Prezi creation: Formative Assessment

Objective:

  • To understand, recognize, and practice effective speaking skills

  • To apply the principles of good design and develop technology skills by creating a well-designed PowerPoint or Prezi

Step 1:

Create a nine-slide Google Presentation (or Prezi) about you with the following requirements:

Slide One: Introductory Slide

  • title of presentation
  • your name
  • anything else you want to include to engage your audience (school appropriate, obvs)

Slide Two: Outline of Presentation

Slide Three: Details

Explain: Your full name, family facts, pets

Slide Four: Where you live: name of town, city

Explain: where you lived before, facts about your town, favorite places

Slide Five: Interests, Hobbies

Include at least three bullet points

Slide Six: Favorite Food

Explain: what and why

Slide: Seven: Why BTHS?

Explain: why you chose to come here

Slide Eight: One of your summer reading books (you choose which one)

  • What book did you read?
  • Tell a little bit about the book.
  • Did you like it?
  • Why should we read it? (no spoilers, please!)

Slide Nine: Concluding Slide

Let your audience know that your presentation is over. You can end with a "thank you," a quote, or an "any questions?" slide, as well as lots of other fun things.

Include three images relating to your topic. They can be on any of your slides. You can get copyright-free images from creativecommons.org

Step Two

Confirm that you saved your work with the correct file name (aboutme_lastname). Once that's done, share your presentation with lamp@ctemc.org.

If you did a prezi, share with lamp@ctemc.org.
